Less than 10 years after its creation, Renaloo is a Patient Association attached to quality of care issues well beyond web communication. Most notably, the Association is working on the notion of Health Democracy (partnerships and relationships in health), with the aim of bettering the care and lives of patients. This desire "to change the world" started in 2009 by assembling doctors, patients and various public health stakeholders through the think tank "Demain la Greffe" (A Transplant Tomorrow). Thanks to their lobbying, the Association has impacted changes in Bioethic Laws, especially with respect to the possibility of giving a kidney to a friend whilst still alive. Yvanie is today working on an ambitious project: "Les Etats Généraux du Rein" (Estates General of the Kidney). He is an Associate Professor of Anesthesia on the faculty of the Stanford University School of Medicine.
