Doctors 2.0™ & You (Paris May 23-24, 2012): Basil Strategies announces 11 Start-up Finalists for Contest
Paris-May 7, 2012 - Doctors 2.0 & You organizers of the 2nd edition today announced the finalists of the conference start-up contest. Eleven start-ups based in 6 countries in Europe, Asia, and North America will compete on May 23-24 in Paris by presenting to a jury and networking in order to also compete for the popular vote. The services they bring represent a new generation of web and mobile applications, collective intelligence through communities, connection between healthcare professionals and patients at a distance. The 2011 winners, Diagnosia (Austria), MesVaccins (France), Withings (France and USA) will exhibit this year.
The 2012 start-ups are — by alphabetical order: Avis Médical (France) a patient-physician question and answer service, BlaBlaDoctor (Indonesia) an online health community targeting users through 5 languages (Arabic, English, French, Indonesian, Spanish). DigitHealth (France) services to physicians on mobile, drugee (France) online service facilitating side effect reporting, iDoc24 (Sweden) distance dermatology advice , Laastari (Finland), an on-site clinic using mobile devices and eHealth to improve efficiency, MeltingDoc (France) online physician communities, Observia (France) online tools for improving treatment adherence, Orca Health (USA) with mobile tools for health knowledge and education connecting physicians and patients, SantéConnect (France) online professional communities, Synappz (Netherlands) with its first mobile app, a voiding diary. The jury include international eHealth experts with a start-up mentoring background: Eugene Borukhovich (Netherlands/US), Leo Exter (Belgium), Dr Pam Yoder (US), Lukas Zinnagl (Austria).

“From Paris to Palo Alto” – Press Release March 2012
Two Digital Health Conferences Doctors 2.0 & You (May 23-24 Paris, France) and Stanford Medicine X (Sept 28-30, 2012 Stanford, California) launch a joint discount registration partnership package.
Paris, Fr and Palo Alto, Ca March 1, 2012. Doctors 2.0 & You and Stanford Medicine X are unique digital health conferences taking place on two different continents and yet sharing a common mission. Both events will explore the potential of Web 2.0 tools, Social Media, and Information Technology to improve healthcare and encourage professionals and patients to be active participants in these digital services.
Thanks to a joint partnership between Doctors 2.0 & You and Medicine X, participants who enroll in both conferences will save a total of US$ 500 off the combined entry fees. This discount program, designed to foster transatlantic exchange, will remain open from March 1 to March 31, 2012. Doctors 2.0 & You 2nd Edition, devoted to Web 2.0, Social Media, and Mobile Apps for Health Care, brings together all walks of healthcare: patients, professionals, providers, pharmaceuticals, government, payers. The speakers represent 20 nationalities originating in Europe, North America, and Asia, The program will focus on best practices, demonstrations, and networking opportunities. Stanford Medicine X is an academic conference designed for everyone. Its mission is to explore the potential of social media and information technology to advance the practice of medicine, improve health, and empower patients to be active participants in their own care. Medicine X is a project of the Stanford AIM Lab and is directed by Larry Chu, MD. Medicine X will be host to an ePatient Scholarship program, an IDEO Innovation Challenge, and a wide array of distinguished speakers from Silicon Valley and beyond.
Both conferences are also exploring other opportunities to expand their partnership, including reciprocal board memberships and speaking engagements.

2nd International Doctors 2.0 & You Congress will gather together 450 international supporters of health 2.0 and social media services to share ideas and best practices, increase cooperation and optimize the learnings. The 2011 conference was under the High Patronage of the French ministry of health. 27 sponsors and media partners supported the event, which was widely reported. The event website was visited from 160 countries. 2011 Keynotes included Yossi Baragon, Lucien Engelen, Berci Mesko, Victor Montori, Denise Silber. Speakers hailed from 14 countries and participants from 22.
The 2012 conference will begin at 1PM on Wednesday May 23rd, 2012 and close at 7:30 pm on Thursday May 24th, 2012.
Over 40 speakers, 10 poster presenters, 15 exhibitors are expected. Contests for best start-up and best poster will animate the event. Round the clock Live Tweeting will be visualized at the venue.
Conference organizers Basil Strategies are currently finalizing the 2012 conference advisory board and accepting applications for speakerships, poster presentations, start-up contest.
